My experience of the busy and often intense American academic schedule whilst at FIT provided me with total motivation to write a manifesto on the value in slowing down and quality over quantity. Fuelled with the frustration of not having enough time to develop depth in my work throughout the semester made the experience of writing this manifesto appeasing and unburdening. It illuminated my critical evaluations of this different type of education I was getting and made me appreciate the more balanced system we have back in Europe.
In hindsight, the reflective nature that this project developed, taught me some fundamental personal realisations of how I feel I work best and how I balance work with rest. My redesigned weekly calendar is something I’d like to carry forward into my future working life.
